researchh

Here is a video i found which shows how they made this add for audi,
I like how you can see each part that theyve used to create the animation, and how they add it into the video after its been filmed.

3D animation evaluation

I think my animation came out quite well, it was difficult to make because there was so many object on the file that everytime i moved something even a little bit it would freeze then take ages to work; but i like how it came out anyway. I like the music choicebecause it fits the animation quite well and different points of the video match up to it. my favourite part of my animation is the animation on the pins, although they were difficult to animate at times.
If i had to improve this i would use the advice that i got from the guy who came in to help us which would have fixed a problem i had with the objects moving slightly even though i didnt want them too.
I would also spend more time on this if the computer could handle all the objects on the screen, i would make a more complex animation with the pins, making faces appear in it and other things.

Final 3D animation

Here is my final animation, i added music too it aswell.

3D Animation Moodboard

Here is my moodboard i made for 3D animation, it represents different aspects of my animation, from the pins, the movements, the music, the lighting and objects.

pin box video research

Here is a video i found on youtube, it uses the same idea that i had, using a pin box which shows an animation on it.
i wanted to try make a face speak lyrics to a song which i think would look really good and could actually be used in a real music video, sadly with what i had i found it hard to use the software with so many objects, so i had to do basic animations compared.

Initial sketched development for my 3D animation

Here is a mind map that i did so i could come up with an idea for my 3D animation.
After that there are some ideas which i came up with for the look of the animation, and a storyboard for the animation itself.

Pin box 3D

Here is a pin box toy which i created in cinema 4D.
I wanted to animate this for my unit, but theres a problem with how slow the computers can process all the polygons which makes it hard to create.
I may have to reduce them by atleast half but it will take away how realistic it is as a pin box.

3D animation research for new idea

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQhfmlTaiHk&feature=related

Here is a bbc four indent which shows 3D objects moving to sounds and the person speaking. I like how the shapes move at different hights and speeds depending on the noises, and some shapes represent different noises to others.

this is the same principle as an idea i have for a 3D animation where a needle board moves up and down to sounds or music.

Ball collision

Here is my video for the tutorial on making objects collide and fall. It is done using plugins to make them solid and some have gravity where as others dont. I added in a few ramps and a box containing it to look beter. theres a target light for shadow effect and a area light to brighting the whole box up.

3D animation Model progression

Here is somethign whcih i hope to animate on cinema 4D.

animated Leg using inverse kinematics

Here is a leg that i animated on cinema 4d using joints and then connecting each together so that when you move one part it moves all the leg together. here is a screenshot aswell which shows the layers of the object and the joints.

3D animation research

One of many different industries that use 3D animation is architecture,
It enables architects  to visualize the blueprints they have in mind, making sure there are no spots where they've gone wrong. It also helps to create a 3D animation for your architectual design because it shows the client almost exactly how it would look finished.

3D animation is used in engineering aswell, for the same sort of reasons as architecture. It helps to have a 3D version of an engineered product which you could move parts about to seehow everything works and is made, it would also help if something goes wrong and you need to diagnose the problem.

3D animation is also used in medicine/surgery, giving surgeons more accuracy and able to make less mistakes because they have blueprints of the body in 3D.

3D animation is used in alot of films and visual effects, It helps create epic scenes, or films which are full of 3D animation. such as transformers, where the robots are added on after as animations.

Spiral growth & colour change

Here is a technique experiment with cinema 4D, using the growth on sweep nurb to make it extend out. This is done by putting it on 0% at the start or beginning, and 100% at the start or beginning. There is also a colour change which is done by change the colour on the last frame. making sure auto keyframe is on the whole time. i put two spirals each way round so that it grows from big to small again. the grwoth was done by reversing the percentages.

emitter experiment

Here is something i made on cinema 4d using the emitter tools, i created different emitters which i made create these different colour balls at a high rate. theres also a rotation object making them go across the screen and also deflector object with a floor ontop to look like the balls are bounding off the floor.

camera spin

Here it shows how i used a spine to attatch a camera too so that it does a 360 rotation around the object. all you do is add a tag to the camera so it alligns to spline, then increase the rotation of the camera and save the start and end points on the keyframes.

spinning cogs

Here is some cogs that i have animated of cinema 4D.
it takes simple stopframe animation to create, making each cog move at the correct rotation to look realistic.
